What inspired you to become an artist, and when did you first realize you had a talent for it?
I use art as a way to communicate to the world, I like showing people things they haven't sent yet or how I would imagine objects or people in a different perspective.
What is your favorite medium to work with, and why do you prefer it over others?
I personally love using my IPAD , I can take it on the go and draw where ever I see fit. Its like having the perfect marker set as well as many other tools. Its a really effective way to stay productive.
Can you tell us about your creative process, from idea to finished work?
Fun Concept > Brain Storm > Style and Medium Choice > Sketch > Line > Shade > Color > Final Edits > Promote > Sell
What themes or subjects do you explore in your art, and why are they important to you?
Bright Colors and Heavy Lines. I like Artwork I can see from a distance and know what it its. Graffiti and Illustration are about the 2 main things i really enjoy but can do other things such as Dark Art and Fine Lettering.
How do you approach critique or feedback on your work, and how has it impacted your growth as an artist?
I say haters can be your best tool. They will tell you stuff your friends are to polite to say but needs to be addressed. I understand that all artwork can be improved and I look for that in everything I see. I think i have grown quite a bit from them tbh. But there is always the ego damage and public shame when someone calls out a flaw but that stuff heals and you move on.
Can you talk about a particularly challenging project you've worked on, and how you overcame obstacles to complete it?
Painting the Monkey boat at the Zoo was the toughest. Horrible weather prevented a lot of work being done. It was a tough projects but it was fun to do and be a part of looking back now.
What artists or styles have influenced your work, and how have you incorporated those influences into your own unique style?
Todd Mcfarlane was an early influence on me especially Spawn. But long term I really enjoy Bill Waterson and Milt Kahl as well as a few other animators.
How has your art evolved over time, and what do you hope to achieve with it in the future?
Its been quite a journey tbh. I went from tagging the streets of North Chicago to Owning a business and training people. The future is all about enjoying the journey and helping others.
Can you share a specific moment or experience that has had a significant impact on your art and your life as an artist?
Being feature in Tattoo magazine was a big deal, I wanted my mom to be proud of me and that was one way I could give her that. Winning trophies and being published were two big goal i achieved a long time ago. Now its about enjoying life.
How do you think your art contributes to society, and what message or emotion do you hope to convey through your work?
P.R.O.G. Peace Respect Originality and Gratitude. I just wanna have fun and create cool stuff.
